This Mediterranean archipelago, where life is good all year around, is full of places of interest to discover. Beaches, cliffs, medieval cities, archaeological sites, modern cities, small villages, diving sites: you can do everything in Malta, and see everything!
It is not always easy to design a program when you don't know the country you are going to. Bugibba in San Pawl's bay is a perfectly located area for easy access to all the different essential places to visit!
We have prepared a list of things to see on th archipelago!
TO SEE IN THE ARCHIPELAGO
Valetta and the Three Cities are face to face. A large part of the archipelago's historical and cultural heritage is concentrated in this districts. You will visit palaces, museums, churches and gardens, all on a background of limestone, sea and blue sky.
Nearly 500 years of history await you, the small streets typical of these cities are home to the traces and remains of the Knights of the Order of Malta, who founded the city to protect it from Ottoman invasions.
Valetta was elected European Capital of Culture in 2018.
VALETTA & THE THREE CITIES
The silent city, the former capital of Malta. Mdina is undoubtedly one of the most exciting cities in the archipelago, it is an open-air museum.
it shines at an altitude of 200 meters in the heart of the island. Enjoy the panoramic view on the road as you go to explore it.
Sleeping there is difficult, come early enough to enjoy the calm of its narrow streets filled with warm-colored stone facades.
MDINA
The blue cave is a 43-metres long sea cave with a maximum depth of 40 metres, entangled with six other successive caves.
It is located south of Zurrieq, it is a place known for its blue and green turquoise water of absolute transparency offering a perfect view of the seabed.
The visit is done in frejgatina, a small traditional Maltese boat. It lasts about 30 minutes for 8€.
To visit early in the morning to enjoy the play of light on the water and the mirror effects.
THE BLUE CAVE
Marsaxlokk (pronounced "Marsacjlok") is an authentic coastal town and a haven of peace in the southwest of the island of Malta. The only seaside resort to be preserved from modern buildings, its picturesque waterfront and its adorable fishing port are unavoidable.
You can admire the famous Luzzu, these colorful traditional boats that have a painted eye on their bow to chase away evil spells at sea.
Go for a walk, only on Sunday mornings, to the fishermen's market, a place full of traditions.
MARSAXLOKK
The cliffs of Dingli stand out as natural ramparts that exude a bewitching charm. This natural formation rises in the northern region of Malta Island with an altitude of 250 meters representing the highest point of the country.
Explore the site to see the splendid landscape that is created trough the rocky slopes and waves of the sea. The beauty of the area intensifies a lot during the summer period, allowing you to enjoy a fantastic sunset.
Not far away, visit Buskett Gardens and Verdala Palace, your amazement will be total!
DINGLI'S CLIFFS

At the beginning of the 4th millenium BC, the inhabitants of Malta built increasingly colossal temples.
Hagar Qim is the most spectacular of Malta's megalithic temples with its massive stone walls of over 200 tons. Many statues have been found there, which are know kept at he Archaeological Museum of Valletta.
Just next door, the Mnajdra site is located in a wildness setting, facing the Mediterranean Sea. The temples of Mnajdra are open to a common courtyard, forming an arc of a circle.
THE MEGALITHIC TEMPLES
Popeye's Village is a set of small wooden cottages located in Anchor Bay, in the northwestern part of the island.
It was created to serve as the setting and location fir the musical Popeye, released in 1980, with Robin Williams in the lead role. it is now open to the public as an open-air museum.
in addition to the film set, Popeye's Village offers entertainment: shows, attractions, museums and the bay that houses the village is beautiful.
POPEYE'S VILLAGE

It is greener, more rural and smaller than its sister Malta and its rhythm of life is dictated by the seasons, fishing and agriculture.
Impregnated with mythology, "Calypso Island" is a quiet and mystical lost corner with baroque churches and old stone farms scattered in the countryside. There are also historical sites, forts and magnificent panoramas!
Its spectacular coastline attracts many divers and hold some of the most beautiful sites in the Mediterranean.
GOZO

With its Polynesian style, Blue Lagon is THE spot in Comino.
Azure blue lagoon, a cove sheltered by sparkling and translucent water, its bottoms are so clear that you can observe the white sand and fish from the surface!
Be aware that in summer, it is difficult to be alone but you'll find all the amenities and dive into water at 28°C!
To get there, go to Cirkewwa Point, where you can find taxi boats, or opt for a day trip from Bugibba.
COMINO AND THE BLUE LAGOON
